OK Versions is track-by-track reimagining of Dana Boulé’s 2023 album Are You Sure You’re OK? The new work explores Dana’s themes using the musical language of Gustav Baller—a dialect informed by krautrock, noise, and ambient drone, but uniquely his own.

Baller leans into the darkness established by Dana, retitling each track according to its bleakest lyric and building a hermetically sealed world of stasis, sadness, and depression. Happiness is fleeting; beauty comes only with resignation. Dana’s ethereal piano figures are rearranged but mostly left intact, while her vocals are completely deconstructed: stretched out into shifting layered drones of wordless emotion or scrambled into clouds of digital noise. To this, Baller adds leftover bits from the original recordings and extra layers of analog synth.
